“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

A Brand New Year

It’s January 2026 and we’ve come through the season of Advent and Christmas. Maybe you are already putting Christmas decorations away. Maybe you are procrastinating or deciding to leave the tree up and put valentines on it in February. No matter where you are in making those decisions, the new year IS here and gives us many opportunities to be made new. For some that means a diet or exercise. For some it means committing yourself to new habits, like reading a daily devotional or a section of the Bible.

2nd Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” John Wesley, the father of Methodism said, “It is good to renew ourselves, from time to time, by closely examining the state of our souls, as if we had never done it before.”

God is doing a new thing, with a new year, and with minds and hearts that are seeking to be renewed by God’s Spirit. You are invited to come and seek Christ with us, in worship, in study, in serving the Lord, and in fellowship. May God bless you with a new desire to know and serve the Lord that loves you now and always.

Worship Schedule

Sundays at 9 am. Food and Fellowship at 10 am

Can’t make it to our service on Sunday? You are welcome to visit one of our sister Methodist Churches on Bolivar:

  • St. Matthew’s Methodist Church, 1308 Weeks Ave, High Island. Sundays at 11 am.

  • Port Bolivar Methodist Church, 1121 Madison, Port Bolivar. Sundays at 2 pm.

Who Are We?

We are Bay Vue Methodist Church, a Global Methodist Church, as of January 1, 2023. We believe in the One True God, known to us as: God the Father, our Creator, God the Son, Jesus Christ our Savior, and God the Holy Spirit, our Guide and Comforter. The Apostles’ Creed is our statement of faith in the fully divine and fully human Jesus Christ who is ever-living and the Keystone of our faith.

We believe that God loves all and that Christ came to save the whole world, and therefore all people are to be valued and loved by Christ and His church. We believe that Christ calls us to repentance, to accept His forgiveness and grace, and then to begin living a new life of obedience to His command to love God, love neighbor, and to make disciples.

We invite anyone who is seeking the Lord to be a part of our community of faith to “Come as you are and leave transformed”. This means there is no dress code here at the beach. And more than that, it means that Christ Himself invites us all to come and let Him transform us into people who live for Christ each day.

You are loved. Come and join us as we learn more about what that means, and then live that out in worship, prayer, study, and service.

Our Mission

As a member of the Global Methodist Church, our Mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. Our Vision is to join God in a journey of bringing new life, reconciliation, and the presence of Christ to all people, and to helping each person reflect the character of Christ.

Our Bay Vue Methodist motto is “Come as you are and leave transformed.” Therefore we believe in living for the Lord who has saved us, and who calls us to love and serve one another on His behalf.

Worship at Bay Vue Methodist Church is at 9 am, followed by food and fellowship. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month and all are welcome who come seeking the presence and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
