The Easter Season

Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed!

Easter Sunday has passed on the calendar, however the church remains in the Easter Season for 50 days. This liturgical practice reflects the story of resurrection in the Bible in how the risen Christ appeared for 40 days before He ascended into heaven. The disciples then gathered in prayer for 10 days as they awaited the gift of the Holy Spirit, which we call Pentecost. Therefore, from Easter to Pentecost, we remain in the Easter Season, doing what the disciples did after Christ’s resurrection: they remembered His words and became committed to putting Christ’s teaching into action.

We invite you to join us for worship each week as we proclaim God’s greatness above all things. All are welcome at Christ’s table for Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. Come as you are, because Jesus meets us where we are. But He doesn’t leave us there. He invites us all to be transformed into the image of God’s love, to be His holy people. After worship, join us for food and fellowship.

If you can't make it to Bay Vue for worship, you are welcome at one of our sister Methodist Churches:

11 am worship - St. Matthew's Methodist Church, 1308 Weeks, High Island

2 pm worship - Port Bolivar Methodist Church, 1121 Madison, Port Bolivar

Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ WILL come again.

Our Mission

As a member of the Global Methodist Church, our Mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. Our Vision is to join God in a journey of bringing new life, reconciliation, and the presence of Christ to all people, and to helping each person reflect the character of Christ.

Our Bay Vue Methodist motto is “Come as you are and leave transformed.” Therefore we believe in living for the Lord who has saved us, and who calls us to love and serve one another on His behalf.

Who Are We?

We are Bay Vue Methodist Church, a Global Methodist Church, as of January 1, 2023. We believe in the One True God, known to us as: God the Father, our Creator, God the Son, Jesus Christ our Savior, and God the Holy Spirit, our Guide and Comforter. The Apostles’ Creed is our statement of faith in the fully divine and fully human Jesus Christ who is ever-living and the Keystone of our faith.

We believe that God loves all and that Christ came to save the whole world, and therefore all people are to be valued and loved, by Christ and His church. We invite anyone who is seeking the Lord to be a part of our community of faith to “Come as you are and leave transformed”. This means there is no dress code here at the beach. And more than that, it means that Christ Himself invites us all to come and let Him transform us into people who live for Christ each day.

You are loved. Come and join us as we learn more about what that means, and then live that out in worship, prayer, study, and service.

Worship is at 9 am, followed by food and fellowship. God bless you!
