Visiting Us? Here's some FAQs (frequently asked questions) that might help you learn more about worship at Bay Vue Methodist, and what to expect when you get there.

Q: What time does worship begin and where are you located?

A: Worship beings at 9:00 am, and we are at 1411 Hwy 87, Crystal Beach, TX  77650 (Go to the “Contact Us” page for a map).

Q: I'm renting a beach house and didn't bring any “Sunday clothes”. What should I wear?

A: At Bay Vue Methodist, we say “Come as you are!” This means that you don't have to worry about dressing up. Our members and guests wear casual attire like shorts, dresses, Tshirts, and jeans, etc.

Q: I'm not a Methodist but I'm looking for a place to worship. Who is welcome?

A: Anyone wanting to come and seek the Lord is welcome to come and worship with us.

Q: My children aren't always quiet. Are children welcome?

A: Children are always welcome in our services. We don’t mind it if there’s a little noise or walking around. We’re just happy that your family is with us, to worship and for fellowship.

Q: Do you have Sunday School or fellowship?

A: We do not currently offer Sunday school classes. Immediately following our worship service, we move to the fellowship hall to share plenty of good food and to visit with each other.

Q: What kind of worship service do you have? What kind of music do you use?

A: We use a traditional style of worship with prayers, hymns, affirmations of faith, but we also sometimes use drama or dramatic readings to help emphasis the theme and scripture of the day. We sing from a hymnal, but we also sometimes use other music, including contemporary praise songs, gospel songs, and even classical style music.

Q: Do you offer Holy Communion?

A: In the Methodist Church, we believe that the communion table should be open to those who want to come forward and share in this sacred moment of remembering what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross to bring salvation and eternal life. Those who choose to come forward to receive the bread and the wine (though we use grape juice), are welcome to commune with us. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.

Q: When I arrive at your church, where do I go?

A: You may enter the sanctuary through the main doors that face Highway 87, or you may walk around to the side and enter through the Fellowship Hall. If you arrive a little early, come to the Fellowship Hall and have a hot cup of coffee.
