“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

Tis The Season

December is the season of Advent, a Latin word that means “to come”. During the four weeks of Advent, we remember how God promised that His Messiah was “to come” to us, to save us from our sins. The Messiah would be called “Emmanuel” which means “God with us”, again pointing to the promise of the Holy One who would come one day. The season of Advent leads into the celebration of Christmas Eve where we remember that God kept His promise: Jesus Christ was born. He grew up, taught us about God’s love, died for our sins, and was resurrected on the third day, all for one purpose: to forgive our sins and to offer us eternal life in God’s kingdom.

Advent is also a reminder that Jesus said that He would come again. Christians are called to tell others of that beautiful promise of salvation. That is what we remember and celebrate in worship and in serving the Lord at Bay Vue Methodist Church.

You are invited to come and be a part of our journey of faith as we seek God’s presence and guidance in this season, and all throughout the year. We especially invite you to join us for our Christmas Eve service at 5 pm. We will be sharing the story of Jesus in a special Christmas Cantata by the choir and bells, as well as Holy Communion (open table), and close with a service of candlelight.

All are welcome. Come as you are, and be transformed by the love, grace and truth of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Who Are We?

We are Bay Vue Methodist Church, a Global Methodist Church, as of January 1, 2023. We believe in the One True God, known to us as: God the Father, our Creator, God the Son, Jesus Christ our Savior, and God the Holy Spirit, our Guide and Comforter. The Apostles’ Creed is our statement of faith in the fully divine and fully human Jesus Christ who is ever-living and the Keystone of our faith.

We believe that God loves all and that Christ came to save the whole world, and therefore all people are to be valued and loved by Christ and His church. We believe that Christ calls us to repentance, to accept His forgiveness and grace, and then to begin living a new life of obedience to His command to love God, love neighbor, and to make disciples.

We invite anyone who is seeking the Lord to be a part of our community of faith to “Come as you are and leave transformed”. This means there is no dress code here at the beach. And more than that, it means that Christ Himself invites us all to come and let Him transform us into people who live for Christ each day.

You are loved. Come and join us as we learn more about what that means, and then live that out in worship, prayer, study, and service.

Our Mission

As a member of the Global Methodist Church, our Mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. Our Vision is to join God in a journey of bringing new life, reconciliation, and the presence of Christ to all people, and to helping each person reflect the character of Christ.

Our Bay Vue Methodist motto is “Come as you are and leave transformed.” Therefore we believe in living for the Lord who has saved us, and who calls us to love and serve one another on His behalf.

Worship

Worship at Bay Vue Methodist Church is at 9 am, followed by food and fellowship. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month and all are welcome who come seeking the presence and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
